This policy explains what information The Real Gay Guy collects, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have.
Information you give us
Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address, the date you subscribed and the page you subscribed from. We use it only to send The Real Guy Edit and related service messages. Contact: if you email us, we keep the message so we can reply. Comments: if comments are open and you leave one, WordPress stores the name, email and comment you submit.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting and analytics tools (including Google Site Kit, where enabled) may record pages visited, referring sites, approximate location and device type. We use this to understand which guides are useful. We do not sell personal information.
Interactive tools
Answers you give in our quizzes, builders and finders are processed in your browser. Saved results are kept in your browser's localStorage and are not sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Third-party services
Amazon may set cookies when you click an affiliate link; that is covered by Amazon's own privacy notice. Some images are served from Unsplash and fonts from Google Fonts, which receive your IP address in order to deliver those files.
How long we keep information
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe and are deleted within 30 days of a request. Contact emails are kept for up to 24 months. Analytics data is kept for up to 26 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing or withdraw consent. Use the Contact page and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and, for significant changes, tell newsletter subscribers.
