This page explains how we choose and evaluate the products that appear on The Real Gay Guy.
1. Start with the reader's problem
We begin with a real need, such as a simple routine for sensitive skin or a carry-on bag for a week away, and define what matters: suitability, ease of use, durability, maintenance and value.
2. Build a shortlist
We look at well-established products and credible newcomers, read manufacturer specifications and ingredient lists, consult independent expert sources and read verified owner feedback for recurring strengths and problems.
3. Compare like with like
Products are compared against close alternatives for the same use. We note who each option suits and where it falls short.
4. Label what we did
If we have used a product ourselves, it is labelled Personally tested and we describe how. Otherwise it is labelled Researched pick. We never describe a researched pick as tested.
5. Keep it current
Products change. We review recommendations periodically and update or remove them when a product is reformulated, discontinued or overtaken.

We do not publish invented prices, star ratings, customer reviews, awards or scarcity claims, and we do not imply Amazon or any brand endorses our content.
